NEO Brussels is a high quality mixed-use project including a shopping mall, leisure, a convention centre and housing which will set a new benchmark in urban redevelopment in Belgium.
This exciting development project on the 68 hectares Heyzel Plateau site of which 18 hectares will be redeveloped, will create a new vibrant area serving the local community, business and tourists and will create new synergy with the existing sport, business, leisure and tourist attractions such as the Atomium, the exhibition centre, the Roi Baudoin stadium, a multiplex cinema and the park which already attract over 5 million people annually.
The existing metro and tramway lines, which provide excellent public transport from the centre of Brussels will be further improved and extended to provide first class access into the heart of NEO Brussels.
This ambitious project will significantly increase the attraction of Heyzel Plateau as a destination visit for Belgian residents and tourists alike.
Phase 1 works will start in 2014 with the convention centre, a 70 000m2 GLA shopping centre and around 9 000m2 of restaurant and leisure facilities.
